Rowan Beckett

So it's been a long time since I have updated. A LONG TIME. I finally got a blogging app so hopefully I will update more often. As I thought it might be a little strange to completely skip over Rowan being born and start now with him as a 4 month old.

So this Rowan on his birthday, Nov 19th, just a few hours old.
Weight: 8 lb 8 ounces --- all in his cheeks ;)
Length: 21 inches

BIRKLEY KAIL HERNANDEZ

First time holding my newest niece!

Birkley and Aunt Makenzie.

Aubrey whispered to her new baby sister "this is your Aunt Makenzie". How sweet is that???
She's gonna be a great big sister!

Sister Baby Bumps!!!

We took this picture last weekend at our family's Father's Day BBQ. Our motivation...we may never be pregnant again at the same time so let's get a picture of the cousins still in their Mommy's bellies. Little did we know, we took the picture just in time because Birkley was just days away from her big arrival!
Though my bump looks about as big in this picture (it's all in the angle:) that's me on the left 18 weeks and Hayden on the right 38 weeks.

Baby Coleman making his/her Internet Debut!!!!

This is what Baby Coleman & I looked like on Father's Day....which in our house was Expectant Father's Day.

This is what we got our daddy-to-be. One of each since we don't yet know if Baby Coleman is a girl or boy, but we are prepared either way!

Sneak Peak

We closed on our new house in Lenexa on March 31st and moved in on April 8th. Things have been unpacked and we are getting settled now, but have yet to start decorating. Here is a sneak peak of our house with pictures from before we moved in.

Looking down from the stairs at the entryway
Love all the light fixtures that came with the house!

Hopefully, I will soon be adding some more pictures post-moving in. But don't hold your breath, it took me a month to post these :)

Countdown to Moving!

FINALLY!!!!

On March 31st we will be closing on our very first KS home. Our very first permanent home. A place that will actually feel like HOME!!!
(As we knew our time in St. Louis was temporary and we were both drowning in school work it just never felt like home).

Moving day is set for Friday April 8th! We have hired movers this time (and got a great deal, in my opinion), so our poor parents and family members won't be guilted into helping*.

I cannot wait to have more space.....To get the other half of our belongings out of storage.....to be in our own home.....to have a home that is close enough to the rest of our family/friends that we can host parties, holiday functions and any other get together we want to.

The weather is so nice and I love having the windows open, but in this apartment that means the smell of curry flooding in from the adjacent apartments....only 2.5 more weeks...only 2.5 more weeks!!!

Pictures to come once it is ours!!

*Only hiring movers to move the belongs from the apartment to the new house. We still have half of our possessions being stored in Valley Falls so we will likely need help with some of that. BUT the gigantic bedroom furniture, heavy couch and chair will all be responsibility of the movers!! Washer, dryer and refrigerator are all new purchases are being delivered so we don't have to worry about those either!

Carlos Update, per request

Someone asked about Carlos so here's an update.

He is now ~6 mon old. He has grown tremendously. He continues to use his litter box like a pro, and we have not had any problems with him scratching or chewing on things he's not supposed to (knock on wood). However, he just recently has started to play bite us :( Hopefully, this is just a phase. We are trying to follow the recommend steps to stop this (stop petting him, putting him on the floor while giving him a stern "NO!").
One thing we have learned about Carlos, when he is in a feisty mood his pupils get very large so it is our warning to keep our distance (it is a guaranteed bite if you try to pet him). Once his pupils return to a normal size that is our cue that he is ready to be friendly again.
He gets very jealous when I am on my laptop and likes to come sit across my extended arms. It makes typing more difficult, but I manage.

This is what the past few Sundays have looked like at our place.
Burying his head from the light
This is as close a picture as I have to show how big he has gotten. He's not overweight, but certainly a healthy boy. He takes up a good share of lap these days.
