10 Months

Crazy Boy!
-Stands up holding onto anything & everything
-Walks when holding onto something
-Says "Dada" and "Mama" (sometimes with meaning, sometimes just babbling)
-early signs of tantrums when frustrated
-reacts to "who's here?" & "Daddy's home!" with big smiles and excitement
-curious about everything
-mimicks noises and sounds we make
-grunts and growls ALOT
-loves to pull ALL items out of an unattended bag or clothes out of an open drawer
-always checking out light fixtures above
-still loves sucking his thumb when he's not on the move
-eats about any finger food, holds his own bottle and sippy cups
-gives mommy kisses, sparingly, and only when he is in the mood

Closet After

We accomplished our additional shoe storage via two methods:
1) Crown Molding High Heel Racks
2) Adding 3 additional shelves

I chose to have a little fun with color. Our whole house is the same flat, brown on the walls and a very yellow-based, creamy-beige on the walls-neither of which would have been my choice. That "beige" is the color that all of the closet shelves are painted too. And although we have a bucket in the basement of the remaining paint, (that was used in a sprayer) I think it would been very difficult to get that 2 year old paint to look good on the new shelves.

I chose to use a teal color instead to spice things up! We spray painted the molding and visible edges of the new shelves. I also covered the tops of the new shelves with a complimentary scrapbooking paper and then "sealed" it with modge podge.

When completed, I had room for 21 additional pairs of shoes! Love my new shoe closet!

Closet Before

I never liked the way they had the shelves so spread apart in our master closet. Since I was using it for shoes, there was alot of vertical space not being utilized.

My shoe collection has grown over the last year and there just wasn't room for everything (and I was not going to get rid of any shoes). So a couple of weekends ago I decided it was time to create more space.

Here are some before pictures of my cliset, and I, obviously, didn't tidy up for picture-sake.

Table Foods & Silly Faces

Last night Rowan & I shared dinner for the first time. I had lasagna and he had some of my noodles...and gobbled them up!
He's always scrunching up his nose and making silly faces. Now he likes to blow in and out through his nose while making that face. He makes this face all the time, especially at dinner between bites.

We Are Standing

Starting a couple of weeks ago Rowan learned to climb to his knees and only a few short days after that he went to standing (assisted, of corse). He's taken a few assisted steps along the couch too.

Water Baby

Rowan recently realized the bath was much more fun when submerged and splashing. He LOVES it! He scoots as far down in his tub as possible, until his bottom is touching the end of the tub and his feet are straight up in the air. His head is in the water and he splashes and splashes; grinning the entire time. Even when a little water splashes into his mouth it doesn't seem to phase him. This puts mommy & daddy on high alert as lifeguards!

I'll Get You My Kitty

Since Rowan is scooting and sliding all over these hardwoods, it was time to gate off the stairs. Carlos tries to keep his distance from Rowan, and he realized quickly that the gate is a perfect barrier.
